Plevna is a village in North Frontenac, in the county of Frontenac.

The village of Plevna was originally called Buckshot but the post office insisted on a new name. Locals argued about the name until one man said that the situation was nearly as bad as the situation that had existed for years at a town in Bulgaria that ended up taking the name Plevna. Most families agreed that it was better for the town to take an unknown name than a local family name other than their own.

Friday October 30

Plevna - Halloween Dance

6-10pm. Clar-Mill Hall, 6598 Buckshot Lake Rd. All ages, free Admission!! There will be a full canteen, live DJ, Silent Auction and lots of spooky fun!!

Saturday October 31

Plevna - Trunk or Treat

5:30-9pm. Clar-Mill Hall, 6598 Buckshot Lake Rd. . Decorate your vehicle, bring the kids and join the group in the parking lot for some Halloween Fun! Kids Party starts - 7pm inside the Hall Games and costume contests, lots of treats snd Haunted Walk from 8pm-9pm.

Plevna - Community Connect Day

12-4pm. Clar-Mill Hall, 6598 Buckshot Lake Rd. Go thrifting for free!!! There will be soup, bread and salad provided while you do your thrifting. Plus extra giveaways!! For more info you can email friendsoffrontenac@gmail.com
